100Nm Mid-Drive Motor – A Huge Upgrade Over the Original Fiido Nomads

The most significant improvement is the new 250W Mivice X700 mid-drive motor, producing an impressive 100Nm of torque.

Unlike the original Fiido Nomads, which uses a 45Nm rear hub motor, the Nomads Pro delivers power through the drivetrain. This allows the motor to work seamlessly with the bike’s gears, producing stronger climbing performance, smoother acceleration and greater efficiency across all terrain.

Benefits include:

  • Outstanding hill climbing ability
  • Improved traction on loose surfaces
  • More natural pedalling feel
  • Better battery efficiency
  • Balanced weight distribution for improved handling

For riders tackling steep hills or carrying luggage on long-distance tours, this is one of the biggest advantages of choosing the Fiido Nomads Pro.

Intelligent Torque Sensor for Natural Electric Assistance

The Nomads Pro features an advanced torque sensor, replacing the simpler cadence-based assistance found on many electric bikes.

Instead of simply detecting when the pedals are turning, the torque sensor measures exactly how much pressure you’re applying and instantly delivers matching motor assistance.

This creates a ride that feels incredibly smooth and responsive, making the bike feel like an extension of your own strength rather than a machine pushing you forwards.

Whether you’re riding slowly through woodland trails or accelerating away from traffic lights, power delivery remains consistent and intuitive.

Premium 120mm Air Suspension Fork

Comfort has also been significantly upgraded.

The original Fiido Nomads uses an oil suspension fork, while the Nomads Pro features a 120mm adjustable air suspension fork.

Air suspension offers:

  • Better bump absorption
  • Reduced rider fatigue
  • Improved front wheel grip
  • Adjustable pressure to suit rider weight
  • Greater comfort on gravel and rough roads

For touring cyclists spending hours in the saddle, this upgrade makes a noticeable difference over long distances.

Four-Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Power means nothing without control.

The Fiido Nomads Pro upgrades to powerful four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, delivering significantly greater stopping performance than the two-piston system found on the previous Nomads.

Advantages include:

  • Shorter stopping distances
  • Improved braking in wet conditions
  • Better heat dissipation on long descents
  • Increased confidence with loaded panniers
  • Excellent modulation and control

Whether you’re descending steep hills or navigating busy roads, these brakes inspire confidence in every situation.

Shimano CUES 9-Speed Drivetrain

The Nomads Pro is equipped with the latest Shimano CUES 9-speed gearing, providing smoother shifting and a wider usable gear range.

When paired with the mid-drive motor, every gear becomes more effective, allowing you to climb efficiently while still maintaining speed on flatter roads.

Compared with the original Nomads, gear changes feel smoother and the drivetrain is designed for improved durability over thousands of miles.

Long Range Battery with Expandable Capacity

One of the standout features of the Fiido Nomads Pro is its flexible battery system.

The removable 417.6Wh battery is ideal for everyday commuting and leisure rides, while Fiido’s innovative modular battery rack allows additional batteries to be fitted for extended adventures.

With multiple batteries installed, the Nomads Pro offers a claimed maximum range of up to 225km (139 miles), making it one of the most capable electric touring bikes available.

This makes it ideal for:

  • Bikepacking
  • Multi-day tours
  • Long-distance commuting
  • Weekend adventures
  • Rural exploration

Fiido Nomads Pro FAQ

Is the Fiido Nomads Pro worth buying?

If you’re looking for a premium electric trekking bike that can handle commuting, touring, gravel riding and weekend adventures, the Fiido Nomads Pro offers excellent value. Its 100Nm mid-drive motor, torque sensor, air suspension and expandable battery system make it a significant upgrade over many traditional hub-drive e-bikes.

What’s the difference between the Fiido Nomads Pro and the Fiido Nomads?

The Fiido Nomads Pro introduces several major upgrades over the original Nomads, including:

  • 100Nm mid-drive motor instead of a 45Nm rear hub motor
  • Advanced torque sensor for smoother power delivery
  • Premium 120mm adjustable air suspension fork
  • Four-piston hydraulic disc brakes
  • Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain
  • Improved hill-climbing performance
  • Better weight distribution and handling

These upgrades provide a more natural riding experience, increased comfort and greater capability on demanding terrain.

How far can the Fiido Nomads Pro travel on a single charge?

The standard removable battery is ideal for everyday rides and commuting. Thanks to Fiido’s modular battery system, additional batteries can be fitted to extend the maximum claimed range to up to 225km (139 miles) under ideal riding conditions.

Actual range depends on rider weight, terrain, weather, tyre pressure, assistance level and riding style.

Can the Fiido Nomads Pro climb steep hills?

Yes. The 100Nm mid-drive motor is specifically designed for climbing. Because the motor works through the bike’s gears, it delivers excellent torque on steep gradients while maintaining smooth and efficient power delivery.

This makes the Nomads Pro particularly well suited to hilly areas and fully loaded touring.

Is the Fiido Nomads Pro suitable for long-distance touring?

Absolutely. The Nomads Pro has been designed with touring in mind. Its comfortable riding position, premium suspension, wide gear range, hydraulic disc brakes and expandable battery system make it ideal for long days in the saddle and multi-day cycling adventures.

What type of motor does the Fiido Nomads Pro use?

The Nomads Pro is powered by a 250W Mivice X700 mid-drive motor producing up to 100Nm of torque. Unlike a rear hub motor, a mid-drive system provides smoother assistance, better climbing ability and improved efficiency by driving the bike through its drivetrain.

What is a torque sensor and why is it better?

A torque sensor measures how hard you pedal and adjusts the motor’s assistance accordingly. This creates a smooth, responsive ride that feels much more natural than cadence-only systems, which simply activate the motor when the pedals begin turning.

The result is better control, improved efficiency and a riding experience that feels closer to a traditional bicycle—just with extra power when you need it.

What gears does the Fiido Nomads Pro have?

The bike is equipped with a Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain, providing reliable shifting and a wide gear range for climbing hills, cruising on roads and tackling mixed terrain.

Does the Fiido Nomads Pro have hydraulic brakes?

Yes. The Nomads Pro comes with powerful four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, delivering excellent stopping power in both dry and wet conditions. They provide improved braking performance over the two-piston system used on the original Nomads.

Is the suspension adjustable?

Yes. The Nomads Pro features a 120mm adjustable air suspension fork. Air suspension allows you to fine-tune the fork pressure to suit your weight and riding style, delivering improved comfort and control across rough terrain.

Can I remove the battery for charging?

Yes. The battery is removable, allowing you to charge it either on or off the bike. This is especially useful if you store your bike in a garage or shed without easy access to a power socket.

Can I carry luggage on the Fiido Nomads Pro?

Yes. The Nomads Pro is designed for touring and everyday practicality. It is compatible with luggage racks, panniers and other carrying accessories, making it ideal for commuting, shopping or bikepacking adventures.

Is the Fiido Nomads Pro suitable for commuting?

Definitely. While it’s designed as an electric trekking and touring bike, its comfortable riding position, smooth motor assistance and long battery range also make it an excellent commuter for riders who want comfort and reliability every day.

Is the Fiido Nomads Pro suitable for gravel riding?

Yes. The combination of wide tyres, adjustable air suspension, powerful mid-drive motor and hydraulic brakes makes the Nomads Pro well suited to gravel tracks, forest trails, canal paths and other mixed-terrain routes.

It is designed as an adventure touring bike rather than a dedicated mountain bike, making it ideal for riders who split their time between roads and off-road paths.

What rider height is the Fiido Nomads Pro suitable for?

The Fiido Nomads Pro is designed to accommodate a wide range of rider heights thanks to its adjustable saddle and handlebars. For the best fit, always refer to the manufacturer’s sizing guide before ordering.

Why choose a mid-drive electric bike instead of a hub-drive e-bike?

Mid-drive motors provide several advantages over hub-drive systems:

  • Better climbing performance
  • More natural pedalling feel
  • Improved battery efficiency
  • Better balance and handling
  • Greater performance when carrying luggage
  • More effective use of the bike’s gears

These benefits make mid-drive electric bikes particularly popular with touring cyclists and riders covering longer distances.
