Most scooters have the personality of a filing cabinet, sensible, quiet, entirely forgettable. This one reads rather differently on paper, the sort of spec sheet that suggests somebody at Pure looked at the standard AIR⁶ Suspension, decided it was all a bit too well behaved, and set about fixing that.
1900 watts. Let that sit for a moment. That is not a scooter number, that is a “small motorbike apologising for its life choices” number. On paper, that’s enough to make the front wheel treat acceleration less like a gradual build and more like a formality it’s rushing through.
Then there’s the hill gradient, 36 percent, steep enough that it would give a mountain goat pause for thought. According to the spec sheet, this thing is built to climb that sort of incline without so much as a change in tone, the kind of number that makes the rest of the range look like they were taking things a bit easy.
Naturally, handing out that much power without handing out enough stopping power to match is how brands end up writing very different sorts of press releases, so credit where it’s due, this is the only AIR⁶ that comes with a proper rear disc brake fitted. Someone, somewhere in the design process, remembered that bit mattered too.
Active Steering Stabilisation is standard here as well, built to keep the whole thing pointed in a straight line while the motor gets on with being genuinely excessive, and it’s rated IP65, so the rain isn’t getting a vote either. On paper, this is a scooter that has decided sensible was for other people.
This clearly isn’t the practical choice in the range, and it isn’t trying to be. It’s the one built for people who’ve had quite enough of practical, spec sheet and all.
