In the unlikely event that the buyer receives the product and it vastly differs from the description of the product, they are entitled to a full refund.

The product may be considered vastly different from the listing if it is:

  • Wrong size
  • Wrong colour
  • Incorrect brand
  • Incorrect model
  • Different frame material
  • Different year of manufacture
  • Different specifications
  • Significantly different condition
  • Any major flaw that wasn’t mentioned in the description
  • Counterfeit product or components
  • Missing parts/components
  • Significant damage that wasn’t mentioned in the description or shown in pictures

The product is not considered vastly different from the listing if:

  • Colour is slightly different, due to the lighting of images or wear
  • Condition is slightly different, including light/ medium scratches and dirt
  • The product doesn’t fit
  • You’ve changed your mind or don’t like the bike.

What happens if the product is vastly different from the listing for the buyer?

  1. The buyer must notify Ride and Glide Marketplace within 48 hours of receiving the product that there is an issue. Please send us an email to [email protected] that includes the reasons why it is different from the listing, as well as photo evidence.

  2. We will suspend the order until we have concluded whether the item is vastly different from the listing. We’ll reach out to the seller and ask them to dispute the claim within 48 hours or provide the return address.

  3. If the seller disputes the claim but we believe the product is considered to be vastly different, we will cancel the order and ask you to return the product to the seller, so we can refund you. The refund will be processed once the product has arrived with the seller.

What happens if the product is vastly different from the listing for the seller?

  1. Once a product has been reported as vastly different. The seller will have 48 hours to provide evidence that the product was sent as described. Evidence of this would be a photo of the product with the box that Ride and Glide has sent.

  2. If Ride and Glide decides that there is not a case that the product was vastly different. The funds will be released to the seller and the case will be closed.

  3. If Ride and Glide decides that the product was vastly different from the listing, the seller will be required to pay the return shipping fee to return their product. Payment for the shipping must be made within 48 hours or the product will be returned to Ride and Glide. If this is the case the seller must pay the additional shipping fee to receive the product back along with any additional storage fees.

Each case will be judged individually and fairly taking into account evidence from both sides. It is up to the sole discretion of Ride and Glide to decide whether or not a product is vastly different from the listing with the evidence provided by both parties.

For this we collect the product, professionally photograph it and market it across our socials, in store and of course on the marketplace. Please note that if the product does not sell within 12 weeks then we reserve the right to return the product to the customer or they can agree to a storage fee of £5 per day. This would be subject to Ride and Glide Warehouse space.

Shipping

Sellers

For products that sell for under £1500 the seller has the option of letting the buyer collect in person or shipping the item out to them.
If the seller agrees to the buyer collecting, then there is an important procedure that needs to be followed. Once the buyer has checked over the product and is happy with it, they must log in to their portal and click “approved”. This triggers an email and message to the seller that they can release the product. If the seller releases the product but hasn’t received the confirmation message to do so, it may be difficult to prove that the buyer accepted the product if there is a dispute.
If you are shipping the item, then we will handle the logistics. If you have a box for the product then we will arrange a collection at your convenience. If you need a box, then we will send a box out to you and arrange a collection once you have packed the product up. For some larger items we may send a courier to collect. All correspondence will be through us for this part of the process and all shipments will be insured.
For Items that sell for over £1500, the shipping process will be the same but the product will come to us here at Ride and Glide first for verification before being sent on to the buyer.

Buyers
For products under £1500 the buyer will have the choice to collect if the seller as listed that as an option. If the buyer chooses this route, then there is an important process to follow. Once the buyer has arrived at the seller’s address, and checked over the product, they will need to log into their portal and press the accept product button. This triggers a message to the seller telling them that the bike can now be released. Buyers, please make sure that if you choose this option, to make sure you are completely happy with the product you are purchasing as once you confirm this through the portal, returning the product for a refund will be extremely difficult.
If the buyer pays for delivery then the process is very simple. If the purchase price is under £1500 then we arrange for the product to be shipped straight from the seller to buyer. If the purchase price is £1500 or above then the product will come to us first to be verified and then sent straight on to the buyer. The buyer has 48hours to make sure they are happy that the product is as described, after this time funds will automatically be released to the seller if the buyer has not raised a dispute.

Verification process

All products that sell for over £1500 are brought into the Ride and Glide workshop for a thorough inspection, before being sent to the buyer. This is to limit post sales issues and give the seller and buyer some peace of mind. The process can take a few days depending on whether the product is as described or not. If we deem it not as described then we will contact both parties and try to reach an agreement. If this cannot be resolved then we send the product back to the seller and refund the buyer. In this instance the seller would be liable for the transport costs.

The verification process will involve the following:

Cosmetic check (against the sellers description)

Tyre and wheel check – We take a good look over the tyre condition and also make sure the rims and spokes are not compromised.

Motor check – We run the motor/s  move through the ride modes, making sure they achieve the speed advertised and function as they should.

Battery and charger check – we charge the product to its full voltage to make sure the cells are ok and the charger is working correctly.

Brake check – we check brake pads, discs, cables, levers and regenerative brakes if required. This is carried out on the work bench and not under load. This is carried out on the work bench and not under load.

Lighting – Any lights including brake lights and indicators will be checked.

Gearing – We will run through the gears on electric bikes to make sure they change smoothly and function as they should. This is carried out on the work bench and not under load.

Additional electrical functions – Any other functions on the vehicle e.g. horn, immobilizer, dropper post etc will be checked.

Some specific products may have additional features that require checking. Once the checks are complete and we are happy that the product matches its description, we give it the Ride and Glide Verified stamp of approval. Please be aware that this is not a warranty and Ride and Glide are not in any way liable for any issues that the product has, or develops once delivered to the customer. This would be a dispute between the seller and the buyer. Please see the disputes section above for more details.

Cycle Scheme Terms and Conditions:

When applying for one of the cycle schemes that we are partnered with, your invoice will be subject to an additional fee.
