The frame of the Boston bike is black painted aliminium. The bike is around 17.5Kg. With the bike being this weight it also makes it ieasy to pedal without the pedal assistance. The mud guards are also made of metal and painted in the same colour. The Boston is also equipped with front and rear light and reflective bands so you are easily visible in the dark. To aid the riders comfort the handlebars and saddle are adjustable in height as well. The Boston can easily be expanded with a front rack and luggage carrier which have been specifically designed by Steco. You can carry upto 25kg making it easy to mount a child seat on it. The bike comes with a standard double bicycle stand also. The electric motor is found in the rear axle and has a power of 250 watt. The drive takes place via a speed sensor at your bottom bracket and the motor has 5 settings from 5km to 25km per hour. One can cycle at a higher speed , a 2.75 gear ratio has been used. This is the ratio between the front and rear sprockets also known as gear ratio.
The bike has a 36v -10.5Ah lithium battery which is hidden in the downtube. Charging a completely empty battery takes about 3 hours. The average battery life is around 500 charges which is approximately 3 years. The Bostons have around 40-70km range however, there are several factors that change this like a strong head wind, rider weight and rider surface. The range is more than enough for daily trips in the city. The Watt bikes are easy to maintain and Ride and Glide offer maintenance on all WATT bikes with in-house servicing.
